Week 13!

The baby is now as long as a peach - approximately 2.9 inches and .81oz! The fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

Week 9!

Baby is a green olive this week! The little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

The house

The house that we are keeping our eye on has dropped in price again. I would still offer them about 10K less than what they are trying to sell for but we can't put in an offer until we are sure that Jason will still have a job. The layoffs are now tentatively going to occur in March. I guess this makes me happy as I now feel like I have more of an idea of when they will happen. J thinks it will happen early this Friday because supervisors are being trained on how to handle letting people being let go. Wshall see I will just be glad when it is over.

I guess if the house does not sell before we can get an offer in they will be more apt to take a lower price so maybe it is a good thing that we have to wait I'm just worried that it will sell and we will be back in square one. We really need to relocate with the little one on the way. Though I guess we can (and will) make due if necessary.

Happy Valentines Day!

This year it was fairly low key as we were not sure how Evelyn was going to be today. as she ended up doing fine we had a full day of cleaning. I finally had enough of all of the clothing that no longer fits her and pulled it out of her closet to be organized and stored. not a small task and unfortunately I don't have enough boxes so I have to get a few at work tomorrow.

As I was in the middle of this I realized that I never went through the stuff that a neighbor gave us after her garage sale. So I pulled that stuff out to and threw it in the washer (as it has been in the garage since she gave it to us). Turns out we have some boy clothing though we will need a few newborn outfits, and six month and above. But it gave us a good start for if we have a boy someday. There were also some cute maternity clothes though she is a little smaller than I am to begin with so I'm not sure if they will fit.

I'm glad they are all organized and will be even happier when the clothing is all in boxes and stored downstairs instead of on the couch.

Tubes

Ugh I can't imagine the poor parents who have their little one go through a major surgery. Getting the tubes in was really not a big deal (as everyone tried to tell me) at all but I was a wreck! I wonder if I would have been this bad if I didn't have all the extra hormones right now. I seriously almost cried while she was walking around and playing. I didn't do to bad when the took her surprisingly enough. I really tried not to be nervous but I didn't succeed at all at least Evelyn was oblivious to my nerves! She was having a great time and didn't even cry when they took her which surprised and relieved me.

I was so relieved to have her back though she was crying pretty hard they had just given her Motrin and I'm guessing she wanted to sleep but couldn't. We made it home and I got her to sleep while J made us some breakfast. Jason put all of the hash browns on my plate even though he wanted some saved for Evelyn - didn't he learn from the mushroom the other night??!! I wish I would have known I would have taken some off of my plate once I added the hot sauce it would have been just mean to give them to her.

It was great after she got up she wasn't back at 100% but was pretty close, we tried to ease her into eating but she wanted nothing to do with that she was hungry! All in all I'm glad it was over and thankful that we didn't have to wait a month as the waiting was the worst part for me. I certainly hope I don't have to go through this again and am sorry for my mom as I put her through it countless times! maybe it does get easier.

Pulling my hair out!

I'm so nervous about tomorrow - yeah i know it's quick and easy but still! we have to be there at 7 (well 7:15) and are 4th in line I think they start at 7 so I'm guessing she will go in at 8. She can ware her pj's so we don't have to wake her (assuming she sleeps past 4:30 unlike this morning.)

My hope is that she will sleep until we have to leave if not we will try to keep her upstairs for as long as possible though I may need to stay away too to keep her from thinking about food. It's going to be a rough morning at any rate. I'm looking forward to having the whole thing over I'm pretty much a wreck. I'm not sure if it is the lack of sleep making it worse or the hormones. It's going to be a long night.

small pants

Today I wore the smallest pants that I own, or they seem to be the smallest at any rate they don't fit anymore - and here I didn't think I had much of a bump yet. Most of my clothing still fits I guess I will just have to avoid these specific pants for now. Or maybe I'm just bloated.
